Tips: What causes the frame drop of an industrial camera?
Generally, some Machine Vision engineers believe that the industrial camera with a USB interface causes the frame drop. Generally speaking, the frame drop of industrial cameras has nothing to do with the transmission interfaces adopted, no matter what is the USB, GigE, or CameraLink. Bad drivers or industrial camera hardware is the real reason for frame drop. The frame drop of a badly designed industrial camera is actually caused by the blockage of data channel. If it can’t be handled in time, the previous one may be forced to be discarded as the new picture comes, or the new picture is forced to be discarded. To solve this problem, the designer needs to make precise design for each link that connects the driver and the hardware data transmission of an industrial camera.
